About Gold Circle Bursary
The Gold Circle Bursary Programme offers financial support for South African students pursuing Degree, Diploma, or Certificate studies in fields deemed critical for the organization’s operations.
This covers a wide range of fields, as Gold Circle values a multifaceted workforce.
The bursary program targets academically deserving students facing financial hurdles, enabling them to focus on their studies and achieve their academic goals.
The Gold Circle Bursary covers essential expenses such as compulsory textbooks, registration fees, and tuition fees.
This comprehensive support allows students to concentrate on their academic pursuits without financial worries.
Gold Circle Bursary Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Gold Circle Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens between the ages of 15 and 35 years old.
- Academic Record: Candidates must have completed their Matriculation (Grade 12) with a minimum average of 65%.
- Course of Study: Applicants must be either currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a Degree, Diploma, or Certificate program at a recognized Higher Educational Institution in South Africa.
- Academic Performance (Continuing Students): Continuing students must maintain a minimum mark of 65% in their latest academic examinations.
- Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate a genuine financial need to qualify for the bursary.
While the above criteria apply to all applicants, there are additional considerations for children or wards of employees and non-employees of Gold Circle:
- Non-Employees of Gold Circle:
- Preference will be given to candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, including Black African, Coloured, and Indian individuals, as well as people with disabilities, youth, and women.
- The applicant’s gross family income must not exceed R180,000 per annum.
- Proof of financial hardship is required.
- Children/Wards of Employees of Gold Circle:
- The employee’s annual salary must not exceed R180,000.
- The employee must have a minimum of one year of uninterrupted service with Gold Circle.
- Proof of financial need is required.

Gold Circle Bursary Application Requirements
To complete your application successfully, you will need the following documents:
- Certified copy of your South African ID document
- Certified copy of your Matriculation certificate or statement of results
- Recent academic results, including your latest transcripts
- Certified copy of proof of your physical address
- Certified copies of your bank statements for the past three months
- Proof of income: Latest payslips if employed, or bank statements and financial statements if self-employed (certified copies)
- Certified copies of your parent’s/guardian’s/spouse’s ID documents (if applicable)
- Proof of income for your parent’s/guardian’s/spouse (if applicable): Recent 3 months’ bank statements (certified copies)
- Certified copy of a death certificate (if a parent is deceased) or divorce certificate (if applicable)
- Proof of application/registration to an accredited and recognized South African Higher Education Institution (on their letterhead, if possible)
- A motivational letter outlining your academic goals and financial situation
- Letter of reference from a credible source
