If you missed it, your grant is not lost, but you need a black card to reach it. Replacement is free at Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Pick n Pay, Boxer and Spar, and at Postbank replacement sites. Dial *120*355# to find the nearest one, or call Postbank on 0800 53 54 55.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The SRD grant runs to March 2027.<\/strong> Treasury has said any changes to the SRD will be announced in the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement later in 2026. We will update this page when that happens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>More grants are being reviewed.<\/strong> SASSA checks beneficiaries against other government and credit bureau data, and new applicants go through biometric identity verification. If SASSA asks you to come in for a review, go, because a grant can be suspended when a review is ignored.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beware of fake news.<\/strong> Posts about new grants or &#8220;double payments&#8221; are often false.
