Many people think they must apply for the SRD grant from scratch every month. You do not. Once you have applied, SASSA re-assesses your application automatically each month. You only need to act again in a few situations, and each one is handled differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A month was declined<\/td>Do not reapply. Appeal that month within 90 days at srd.dsd.gov.za\/appeals<\/a>, if you believe the decision is wrong. Future months are still assessed.<\/td><\/tr>
Your status says “reapplication pending” or asks you to reconfirm<\/td>Log in on srd.sassa.gov.za<\/a> and complete the reconfirmation so that assessment can continue.<\/td><\/tr>
You cancelled your application<\/td>Use the reinstatement option on srd.sassa.gov.za<\/a> with your ID number and cellphone number.<\/td><\/tr>
You stopped qualifying and now qualify again<\/td>Log in on srd.sassa.gov.za<\/a> and check that your application is active. If it has lapsed, reconfirm or reinstate it.<\/td><\/tr>
You never applied successfully<\/td>Start a new application on srd.sassa.gov.za<\/a>.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Reinstating a cancelled application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Choose the option to reinstate a cancelled application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Enter your ID number and the cellphone number you applied with.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Enter the one-time PIN sent to your phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Confirm, and check your status again after a few days.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
