Beneficiaries will also receive a small increase in their monthly grants starting this cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SASSA Old Age Grant Increase in October 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From October, grant amounts rise by <strong>R10<\/strong>, following the announcement made by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana in the 2026\/26 Budget Speech. The updated amounts are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Old Age Grant:<\/strong> R2 320 (previously R2 310)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Old Age Grant (75 years and older):<\/strong> R2 340 (previously R2 330)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>War Veterans Grant:<\/strong> R2 340 (previously R2 330)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disability Grant:<\/strong> R2 320 (previously R2 310)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Care Dependency Grant:<\/strong> R2 320 (previously R2 310)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>SASSA CEO Themba Matlou confirmed that the agency is ready for the October payment cycle and welcomed the adjustment, saying it provides needed relief to many households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SASSA Old Age Grant Payment Date \u2013 October 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The official <strong>SASSA Old Age Grant payment date<\/strong> for October 2026 is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Thursday, 2 October 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Other grants will follow after the Old Age Grant has been processed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Disability Grants:<\/strong> Friday, 3 October 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Children\u2019s Grants:<\/strong> Monday, 6 October 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>SASSA reminded beneficiaries that they do not need to rush on the first day, as funds remain in their accounts until withdrawn. Payments can be accessed through banks, Postbank, retailers, or cash pay points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Court Ruling on Postbank Agreement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>SASSA also welcomed a ruling from the North Gauteng High Court, which struck off Postbank\u2019s urgent application regarding the termination of the Master Services Agreement (MSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judge C. Collis found that the matter lacked urgency, since Postbank was aware of the planned termination since March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SASSA assured beneficiaries that this change will not affect grant payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAll Old Age Grant beneficiaries and others receiving their money through Postbank accounts will continue to be paid,\u201d said CEO Themba Matlou. \u201cBeneficiaries are also free to open an account with any bank of their choice, and we assist them in this
