No. Public TVET colleges do not award degrees. Their qualifications go up to NQF Level 5 occupational certificates and, during the phase-out, N6. Degrees are offered by universities and registered private higher education institutions. A TVET qualification can, however, be a step towards a degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a TVET college to a degree<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Complete NC(V) Level 4 with strong marks in the right subjects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Check the university’s NC(V) admission rules, which set minimum marks in fundamental and vocational subjects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Apply; some students enter through a higher certificate first.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Apply to NSFAS again when moving from TVET to university.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Private colleges advertising “degrees” must be registered with DHET as private higher education institutions, and the programme must be accredited by the CHE.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
