{"id":1142,"date":"2024-09-17T19:28:02","date_gmt":"2024-09-17T19:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bursariesafrica.co.za\/tvet\/?page_id=1142"},"modified":"2026-03-08T07:31:55","modified_gmt":"2026-03-08T07:31:55","slug":"ivanplats-bursary","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bursariesafrica.co.za\/tvet\/ivanplats-bursary\/","title":{"rendered":"IVANPLATS Bursary South Africa 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd is a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a top mining company with a focus on developing the Platreef palladium-rhodium-platinum-nickel-copper-gold project in South Africa&#8217;s Limpopo province.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IVANPLATS uses cutting-edge technology to extract minerals responsibly and sustainably.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a socially responsible organization, IVANPLATS is committed to supporting the communities surrounding its operations and investing in South Africa&#8217;s future generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the IVANPLATS Bursary Programme <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The IVANPLATS Bursary program offers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bursariesafrica.co.za\/tvet\/islamic-relief-bursary-2\/\">financial assistance<\/a> to South African students residing near recognized mining communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike many bursaries with specific field requirements, the IVANPLATS Bursary is open to students pursuing ANY field of study at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program is particularly beneficial for students with aspirations ranging from engineering and business leadership to social sciences and the arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility Criteria for the IVANPLATS Bursary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for the IVANPLATS Bursary program, you must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>South African Citizenship or Permanent Residency: You must be a South African citizen or hold permanent residency in South Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previously Disadvantaged Background: Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged groups (PDGs) in South Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Matric Completion: You must have completed your Matriculation certificate (Grade 12).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full-Time Studies: You must be enrolled in, or intend to enroll in, full-time studies towards a recognized qualification at a South African tertiary institution in 2026. Short courses or skills programs are not eligible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic Record: You must demonstrate a passion for learning and commitment to your chosen field of study. This will be evidenced by your academic record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vaccination Status: You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and possess a valid vaccination certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local Community Preference: While applications from all South African students are welcome, preference will be given to students residing in local and &#8220;doorstep&#8221; host communities surrounding recognized mining areas.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that failure to meet any of the above criteria will result in your application being disqualified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IVANPLATS Bursary Application Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the bursary by submitting the following documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Certified copy of your South African ID document<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Certified copy of your latest Matric results\/ certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full academic record\/ transcripts (if currently studying) on official institutional letterhead<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of registration at a recognized tertiary institution for 2026 (on institutional letterhead)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of residence (letter from a tribal authority or ward councilor confirming your address)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your COVID-19 vaccination certificate<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no separate application form required.
