The common reason N3 took longer was failing one or more of the four subjects. This page covers finishing N3 now that new enrolments have closed; the standard timeline is in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bursariesafrica.co.za\/tvet\/how-long-does-the-n3-course-take\/\">how long the N3 course took<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If you still have N3 subjects outstanding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ask your college which examination opportunities remain for students who registered before the 2024 phase-out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rewrite the subjects you need as soon as a sitting is available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep proof of your registration and previous results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do you need all four subjects?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It depends on what you want to use N3 for. For trade test access, the regulations focus on specific subjects: mathematics, engineering science and the relevant trade subject at N2 level.
