It is a one-year programme for applicants who do not yet meet the entry requirements for the NC(V) or an N-course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What the PLP covers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foundational English<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foundational mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Life skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim is to strengthen your language and numeracy so that you can cope with a vocational programme, not to give you a qualification on its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who it is for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants with Grade 9, 10 or 11 who did not meet the NC(V) Level 2 entry requirements or placement test.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adults returning to study after a long break.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students who want a stronger foundation in maths or English before a technical programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Colleges that have offered the PLP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Boland TVET College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ehlanzeni TVET College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>False Bay TVET College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Goldfields TVET College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nkangala TVET College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Northern Cape Rural TVET College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vuselela TVET College<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every campus runs the programme every year, so ask your nearest campus.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What comes after<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>After the PLP<\/th><th>Entry point<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>NC(V)<\/td><td>Level 2<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Occupational programmes<\/td><td>Depends on the programme&#8217;s requirements<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NSFAS policy recognises the PLP as a step towards an NC(V) Level 2 programme. Confirm funding for the PLP year with the college&#8217;s financial aid office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bridging for university<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PLP does not prepare you for a university degree.
