Public TVET colleges do not register matric rewrite candidates. Sedibeng TVET College’s FAQ says it does not offer matric upgrade or rewrite, and rewrites are registered with the Department of Basic Education (DBE). A few colleges, such as Port Elizabeth TVET College at its Iqhayiya Campus, list a Second Chance Matric offering, which links to the DBE programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why TVET colleges do not do it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The National Senior Certificate is a school qualification run by the DBE. TVET colleges fall under a different department and offer their own qualifications, such as the NC(V), which is at the same NQF level as matric but a separate qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
