No. Unisa is a university and does not offer matric upgrades or rewrites. Matric (the National Senior Certificate) is administered by the Department of Basic Education (DBE), so that is where you register to improve your marks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to upgrade matric instead<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Register for the DBE Second Chance Matric Programme at eservices.gov.za<\/a> or at a district education office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Choose the subjects you want to improve.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Use the free DBE support materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Write the May\/June examinations and receive a new statement of results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    For 2026, registration ran from 1 October 2025 to 6 February 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
