N6 is the final theory level of the NATED Report 191 programmes offered at TVET colleges. It is not a diploma by itself. What N6 is “equivalent to” depends on whether you have only the N6 certificate or the full National N Diploma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important:<\/strong> an N6 certificate on its own is a theory qualification. The full National N Diploma needs N4 to N6 theory plus workplace experience, and it is applied for through your college.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Is the National N Diploma the same as a university diploma?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They sit at the same NQF level, but they are different qualifications. A university diploma is awarded by a university and follows the higher education framework; the National N Diploma is issued by DHET through TVET colleges. Employers and universities decide how they treat it, so check with the institution or employer you are applying to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
