The National Certificate (Vocational), usually written NC(V) or NCV, is a qualification offered at public TVET colleges at NQF Levels 2, 3 and 4. Each level takes a year. It combines general subjects such as language and mathematics with vocational subjects and practical work in one field, such as engineering, office administration, hospitality or primary health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NC(V) is not the same as N1 to N3. The N-courses are a different, older programme that is being phased out.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The fundamental subjects are a language, mathematics or mathematical literacy, and life orientation. Umalusi quality-assures the qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
