The University of Fort Hare is a historic and respected South African public university with campuses in Alice, East London, and Bhisho. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

UFH offers undergraduate, honours, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programmes across faculties such as Education, Health Sciences, Law, Management and Commerce, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Science and Agriculture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year the university publishes its official fees structure covering application, registration<\/a>, tuition, residence, and other student obligations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Fort Hare Application Fee 2027 (Non-refundable)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To apply to study at UFH for the 2027 academic year, all new applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the university\u2019s official application information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Application Fee: R120 <\/strong>for South African applicants and R500 for international applicants. The 2026 General Prospectus says the R120 fee is due on or before 30 September, and late applications (accepted only for undersubscribed qualifications) cost R300.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. This fee must be paid before submitting your application form on the online application portal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Follow the payment instructions shown in the online application system, and use UFH’s official payment gateway or bank account only.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The application fee covers the processing of your application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It is not refundable if your application is declined or if you decide not to accept an offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    University of Fort Hare Registration Fee 2027 (Initial Payment)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Before you can register for your courses, UFH requires an initial payment on your student account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This amount is effectively a registration prerequisite rather than a separate \u201cregistration fee.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Students must pay this initial amount before the registration process can be completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    According to official fee guidelines and registration information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Minimum Initial Payment: the 2026 Registration Guide sets the MIP at R3 500 towards tuition for self-funded students. Students living in residence also pay a R500 indemnity fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. This amount is credited to your student account. EFTs and bank deposits can take up to four hours to reflect, and registration is only activated once the payment appears. International students also pay a foreign levy of R1 500 (SADC) or R3 500 (non-SADC).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Students who do not pay the MIP by the deadline may not be allowed to complete registration.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      University of Fort Hare Tuition Fee Structure per Faculty<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Tuition fees at UFH differ between programmes, faculties, and levels of study. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The University Council sets tuition and residence fees each year, taking DHET’s fee increase guidelines into account. The 2026 General Prospectus lists the charges every student pays on registration: registration costs of R500, a student ID card for R80, and a student levy of R2 000 (R1 000 for part-time students). Late registration costs R700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
