Webber Wentzel Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African Citizenship: This scholarship is exclusively for South African citizens.
- LLB Degree Program: You must be enrolled in a recognized LLB degree program at a South African tertiary institution.
- Penultimate Year of Study: The scholarship is available to students entering their second-last year (penultimate year) of LLB studies.
- Academic Excellence: A strong academic record is essential. You’ll need a minimum average of 70%.
- Financial Need or Disadvantage: You must demonstrate either financial need or be from a previously disadvantaged background.
Webber Wentzel Scholarship Application Requirements
Applications for the Webber Wentzel Scholarship are submitted online.
You’ll need to create an account on the Webber Wentzel website before accessing the application form.
In addition to the online application, you’ll also need to submit clear copies of the following supporting documents:
- Certified Copy of Your ID Document
- Certified Copy of Your Matric Certificate
- Academic Transcripts: This includes transcripts of your LLB degree program to date, with your latest exam results, all on official institutional letterhead.
- Transcripts of Any Other Qualifications: If you hold any other undergraduate or relevant qualifications, provide official transcripts on institutional letterhead.
- Latest Detailed Tertiary Fee Statement: This document should be on your institution’s letterhead and reflect all transactions.
- Proof of Income: Submit documents proving your income or the income of your parents/guardians/spouse (if applicable). This could include latest payslips, income tax returns (employed), sworn affidavits (unemployed), financial statements (self-employed), or proof of pension/grants.
- Death Certificates (if applicable): In the case of deceased parents/guardians/spouse, provide certified copies of death certificates. If unavailable, submit sworn affidavits.
- Divorce Certificate (if applicable): If your parents are divorced, provide a certified copy of their divorce certificate. If separated but not divorced, submit a sworn affidavit.
