The Lockdown Collection (TLC) Bursary South Africa 2025

The arts industry in South Africa, like many others, faced significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lockdown Collection (TLC) Bursary provides support for aspiring visual artists, helps bridge the financial gap and empower students to pursue their artistic dreams.

The TLC Bursary is a collaborative effort between The Lockdown Collection (TLC), Artist Proof Studio, and the Visual Arts Network of South Africa (VANSA).

The initiative was made possible by the generous donation of a limited-edition artwork by renowned South African artist William Kentridge.

Proceeds from the sale of these editions directly fund the bursaries, providing valuable financial support to deserving visual arts students.

About The Lockdown Collection (TLC)

Born out of the unprecedented times of the 2020 lockdown, TLC emerged as a creative response to a challenging situation.

Their mission is to empower South African artists and create a sustainable future for the arts industry.

Initially envisioned as a three-week project, TLC’s success has led to its continued operation, providing a platform for artists to showcase their work while raising funds to support the future generation of South African artists.
