Each year, many students apply to study undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

After applying, applicants want to know how to check their status.

This article explains how to check your 2026 UNIVEN application or admission status.

It also covers what the different status codes mean, how to request an offer, how to register once admitted, and where to get help if your status does not appear.

What is the UNIVEN application status portal?

The UNIVEN application status portal is an online system that shows the progress of your application for admission.

Applicants who submitted their online applications for the 2026 academic year can use their South African ID number or passport number to check if their application is captured, if they need to request admission, or if they have been admitted.

The university activated the portal in January 2026 for tracking application status.

How do I check my UNIVEN application status online?

To check your UNIVEN application status online:

  1. Open your web browser and visit the UNIVEN Application Status Tracking page.
  2. Enter your South African ID number or passport number.
  3. Click the search button or submit the form.
  4. Your application status and the qualifications you applied for will be shown.
  5. If you qualify for admission, a “REQUEST OFFER” button will be shown next to the qualification.
  6. Click REQUEST OFFER to select your preferred programme. You can only request one offer per application.

If your status page does not appear online or the ID is not found, contact the student administration office for help.

What do the UNIVEN status codes mean?

When you check your application status on UNIVEN’s portal, you may see different codes or messages.

Here are common ones:

  1. ID not found – This means no application was found, or the university has not yet captured your application. Check that your ID number is correct and that you submitted your application properly.
  2. Request for admission – Your application is in the system, but you have not yet requested an offer. You must click the “REQUEST OFFER” button to proceed.
  3. Requested for admission – You have requested an offer, but the university has not yet allocated space for you. Wait for further updates.
  4. Admitted – You have been offered a place, and you can proceed to registration.

How do I request an offer at UNIVEN?

Once your application is accepted for consideration and shows the qualifications you are eligible for, you must manually request an offer.

After entering your ID or passport on the UNIVEN status portal, the system will list your qualifying programmes.

Next to each programme that you qualify for, you will see a REQUEST OFFER button.

Click that button for the programme you want to study.

Make sure you choose only one qualification, as you are given only one chance to request an offer.

What should I do after being admitted?

If your status changes to Admitted, you must complete your online registration within the time stipulated by the university.

Registration for first-time entering and returning students opens in mid-January and continues through January 2026.

Make sure you have accepted your offer and paid any required deposits or fees if needed.

Regularly check the UNIVEN academic calendar and notices for exact registration dates and requirements.

What if my UNIVEN status shows ID not found?

If you enter your ID number and the system shows ID not found, this means your application may not be in the system, or it has not been captured.

First, check that you entered the correct ID number or passport number.

If the correct details do not work, contact UNIVEN Student Administration for assistance. You can also email or call admissions staff for clarification.
