Are you a Grade 12 learner or recent Matriculant from the West Coast of South Africa? The Aurora Wind Power Bursary 2026 offers financial support of up to R100,000 to help fund your tertiary studies at a public institution. Applications are now open until 31 October 2025.

Aurora Wind Power is the operator of the 94 MW West Coast One Wind Farm in Vredenburg, Western Cape. Committed to clean energy and community upliftment, the company partners with StudyTrust to provide bursaries that empower local youth through higher education.
What the Bursary Covers
- Any 3 or 4-year degree programme at a South African public university
- Tuition, registration, and exam fees
- Accommodation in a residence or equivalent
- Meals and monthly allowances
- Prescribed textbooks and stationery
Note: The total value is determined per student, with a maximum of R100,000 per year.
Who Can Apply?
You may qualify if you meet these requirements:
- South African citizen residing in the West Coast region of the Western Cape
- Currently in Grade 12 or already passed Matric
- Applying to or accepted by a public university or TVET college
- Household income does not exceed R350,000 per year
- Demonstrated academic achievement in Grade 12 (prelim/final results)
How to Apply in 3 Easy Steps
- Go to StudyTrust’s Online Application.
- Enter “bursariesafrica.co.za” in the referral field.
- Upload the following supporting documents:
- Certified copy of your South African ID
- Latest school results or Matric certificate
- Proof of university or college application or acceptance
- Proof of residential address
- Income documents: payslips, affidavits, grants, or pension letters
Selection Timeline
Applicants will be notified of the outcome by 28 February 2026. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
1. Who can apply for the Aurora Wind Power Bursary?
South African citizens from the West Coast in the Western Cape, who are in Matric or have recently completed it, and plan to study at a public university or college in 2026.
2. Does the bursary cover private institutions?
No. The bursary only supports studies at public South African universities and TVET colleges.
3. What courses are supported?
Any 3- or 4-year undergraduate degree programme is eligible, provided it is offered at a public institution.
4. Will I get full funding?
Yes, the bursary may cover full tuition, accommodation, meals, textbooks, and more. Final amounts depend on individual needs.
5. How do I apply?
Apply online via the StudyTrust platform and email your application to [email protected]. Mention bursariesafrica.co.za as your referral.
6. What documents must I submit?
Your ID copy, Matric certificate or results, proof of residence, proof of university application or acceptance, and your parents’ income proof or affidavits.
7. When does the application close?
The closing date is 31 October 2025. Late applications will not be accepted.
8. How will I know if I am selected?
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by 28 February 2026. If you do not hear back, your application was unsuccessful.
9. Can I apply if I’m already in university?
Yes, as long as you meet all the eligibility requirements including location and financial need.
10. Is the bursary renewable each year?
Yes, but continued funding depends on your academic performance and annual reviews.
