Breede Valley Municipality, which covers Worcester, Rawsonville, De Doorns and Touwsrivier in the Western Cape, runs a Mayoral Bursary for residents who want to study at public universities, universities of technology and TVET colleges. The bursary contributes towards registration and tuition and favours the fields the municipality needs, from engineering and town planning to IT and public administration.

Breede Valley Bursary eligibility requirements

• South African citizen permanently resident in the Breede Valley Municipality.
• Matric with roughly a 50% average or better.
• Accepted at, or applied to, a public tertiary institution.
• Demonstrated financial need, and not fully funded by NSFAS or another bursary.

How to apply for the Breede Valley Bursary

1. Download the official application form from bvm.gov.za or collect it from a municipal office or library when the advert appears.
2. Attach a certified ID, certified Matric certificate or latest results, proof of residence (a municipal account or affidavit), proof of household income (payslips, bank statements or unemployment affidavits), proof of acceptance or application at the institution and a motivation letter.
3. Hand-deliver the signed application to the Human Resources office at 53 Baring Street, Worcester, or submit it by email or post as the advert directs, before the closing time.
