About the GWK Bursary

The GWK Bursary provides financial support to South African students pursuing studies towards careers within the GWK Group. 

The bursary covers registration fees, tuition fees, and prescribed textbooks, providing a significant financial relief to successful applicants.

  3. Cultivation, procurement, and marketing of various agricultural products (grain, potatoes, lucerne/alfalfa, cotton, peanuts, pecan nuts, grapes, etc.)
  4. Estate Agents
  5. Finance and Accounting
  6. Human Resource Management
  7. Information Technology
  8. Insurance
  9. Livestock marketing (marketers, agents, advisors, and auctioneers)
  10. Logistics
  11. Marketing and Communication
  12. Marketing of agricultural input products (fertilizer, seed, etc.)
  13. Mechanics and Irrigation
  14. Procurement
  15. Research and Development
  16. Risk Management and Audits
  17. Safex trading of products

GWK Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the GWK Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Be a South African citizen
  2. Have completed Matric (final year of secondary school)
  3. Possess a good academic record
  4. Be registered for a qualification in one of the fields listed above
  5. Be enrolled at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa

Meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee the award of a bursary. 

GWK will select successful candidates based on further criteria such as academic merit, financial need, and potential contribution to the agribusiness sector.

GWK Bursary Application Requirements

Applications for the GWK Bursary must be submitted online. 

Along with your application, you will need to submit clear copies of the following supporting documents:

  1. South African ID document (copy)
  2. Most recent academic results (official transcript on the institution’s letterhead)
  3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  4. Full details of your chosen course of study
  5. Statement or invoice detailing all fees associated with your chosen course (registration fees, tuition, prescribed textbooks)

Incomplete applications, or those missing any of the required documents, will likely be disqualified.
