The Food for Mzansi Bursary offers a unique opportunity for 20 deserving students to pursue a two-year National Diploma qualification in an agriculture-related field.
This program allows students to complete their studies entirely online, making quality education accessible from anywhere in South Africa.
This eliminates the financial burden of travel and accommodation, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to participate.
The bursary program is offered in collaboration with Agri Skills Transfer, an accredited AgriSETA training provider.

Applying for the Food for Mzansi Bursary is a simple three-step process:
- Step 1: Film a short video explaining why you deserve the bursary award. Remember to begin your video with the phrase “Dear Food For Mzansi.” Express your passion for agriculture and your vision for the future. You can film your video in any of South Africa’s eleven official languages.
- Step 2: Upload your video to your preferred social media platform (TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook). Tag Food For Mzansi and include the hashtag #DearFoodForMzansi.
- Step 3: Once you’ve uploaded your video, head over to the Food for Mzansi Bursary Application Form and complete it in its entirety. Attach your most recent Matric results for verification.
Food for Mzansi Bursary Eligibility Criteria
Before your application, ensure you meet the minimum eligibility requirements:
- Currently enrolled in Matric (Grade 12) in 2024 or have already completed Matric.
- Interested in pursuing a National Diploma qualification in one of the aforementioned fields of study (Agri Sales and Service, Animal Production, or Plant Production).
- Ready to commence studies in January 2025.
- Possess a device (laptop, smartphone, or tablet) with reliable internet access (Wi-Fi or data) for online learning.
- Committed to completing 120 credits per year.
