Ngodwana Energy Bursary Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the Ngodwana Energy Bursary, ensure you meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. You must be under 35 years old.
  3. You must reside in one of the beneficiary communities:
    • Emakhazeni Local Municipality (Ward 5: Arlie, Hemlock, Sycamore or Ward 7: Engwenya (Waterval Boven))
    • City of Mbombela Local Municipality (Ward 12: Berlin, Bhamjees, Elandshoek, Kaapsehoop, Ngodwana, Schagen, De Goedehoop Farm or Ward 14: Kankanyisa (Agri-Village), Lugedleni, Metaffin, Mbambo, Newstands, Skomsplaas, Sterkspruit, Woodhouse)
  4. You must have completed Matric (South African National Senior Certificate).
  5. You must be registered or accepted for full-time study towards a degree or diploma in one of the listed fields at a recognized and accredited South African higher education institution in 2025 (application year to be confirmed).
  6. You must have achieved a minimum average of 60% in your most recent studies.
  7. You must not be receiving any other bursary funding, including NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme).
  8. You must not have student debt exceeding three years.

  7. Updated CV: An updated Curriculum Vitae signed by an ICF representative from your beneficiary ward.
  8. Proof of Income (Parents/Guardians): Proof of income for your parents or guardians (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension or SASSA grant if applicable).
