Established in 2016, the PPS Foundation is the social investment arm of PPS, a leading financial services provider in South Africa catering to graduate professionals.
The foundation’s primary goal is to improve access to education, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
Since its inception, the PPS Foundation has empowered over 105 students by providing financial assistance for their tertiary studies.
About the PPS Foundation Bursary Programme

The PPS Foundation Bursary is designed to support deserving individuals like you.
This merit-based bursary provides funding for full-time undergraduate degrees (including honors) at accredited public universities and universities of technology in South Africa.
The bursary prioritizes two main criteria:
- Financial Need: The program prioritizes students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds with a household income not exceeding R600,000 per annum.
- Academic Performance: Applicants must demonstrate strong academic potential through their past academic records.
The PPS Foundation Bursary offers comprehensive support, covering essential expenses like:
- Tuition Fees
- Textbooks
- Meals
- Accommodation (if residing in a university residence)
Additionally, bursary recipients gain access to valuable resources that enhance their learning experience.
First-year students also participate in on-campus support sessions facilitated by the PPS Foundation.
Eligibility Requirements for the PPS Foundation Bursary
Before applying, ensure you meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African Citizen
- Currently in Matric (2023) or completed Matric
- Enrolled for full-time study at a recognized public university or university of technology in South Africa
- Household income must not exceed R600,000 per year
- Preference is given to students pursuing STEM degrees (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- Preference is given to previously disadvantaged candidates and financially deserving Black South Africans (African, Coloured, Indian)
How to Apply for the PPS Foundation Bursary
Applications for the PPS Foundation Bursary are conducted online.
Alongside your application, submit clear copies of the following supporting documents (incomplete applications will be disqualified):
- Certified copy of your ID document (not older than 3 months)
- Matric certificate or statement of results (certified copy)
- Full academic record to date, including transcripts (on institution’s letterhead – if applicable)
- Proof of registration for the current academic year (on institution’s letterhead)
- Financial statement from the university student finance department
- Proforma invoices for prescribed textbooks
- Lease agreements (if residing in private accommodation)
- Proof of parents’ or guardians’ household income (latest payslips, affidavit if unemployed, proof of grant or pension)
