About SA Chefs Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund

The SA Chefs Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund (BMBF) is a testament to SA Chefs’ commitment to nurturing the next generation of culinary talent. 

This bursary offers financial support of R35,000 towards the current year’s tuition fees for a deserving student enrolled in a recognized culinary training program at a SACA-approved culinary institution.

The bursary is named after the late Bryan Montgomery, a prominent figure in the South African culinary landscape. 

By awarding this bursary, SA Chefs aims to honor his legacy and empower aspiring chefs to pursue their culinary aspirations.

SA Chefs Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the SA Chefs Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund, ensure you meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

  1. You must be a South African citizen and resident or a permanent resident of South Africa.
  2. You must be between 18 and 25 years old.
  3. You must have completed your Matric or an equivalent qualification.
  4. You must be enrolled in a recognized culinary training program with a minimum duration of 12 months.
  5. You must be enrolled at a culinary institution that is a member of SA Chefs Training.
  6. You must be a current member of SA Chefs or intend to become a member upon enrolling in culinary school.
  7. You must demonstrate a clear intention to pursue a career in professional cookery.
  8. You must be willing to be available for SA Chefs and sponsors for public relations purposes.

Applications that fail to meet any of the above criteria will not be considered.
