About SACTWU Bursary
The SACTWU Bursary Programme offers financial assistance to qualifying individuals pursuing higher education.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for SACTWU members, their spouses, children, and legally adopted children to lessen the financial burden of attending university or a registered private institution.
The bursary covers a significant portion of tuition fees:
- Public Universities: Up to 75% of tuition fees per year, with a maximum value of R23,450.
- Private Institutions (Registered with DoHE): Up to 75% of tuition fees per year, with a maximum value of R4,690.
The SACTWU Bursary does not cover any additional expenses beyond tuition fees.
Bursary recipients must reapply each academic year to maintain their funding.
If you are a child dependant of an SACTWU member, you’ll be required to complete 50 hours of community service.
Completing more than 50 hours provides an additional 5% boost to your bursary funding.
