Volkswagen Group Africa, formerly Volkswagen Group South Africa, builds the Polo at its Kariega plant in the Eastern Cape and exports it around the world. Its bursary is one of the broadest corporate programmes in the country, spanning engineering, data, finance and business, and it adds a laptop, vacation work and mentoring to full funding.
About the VWGA Bursary
- Engineering: electrical, industrial, mechanical and mechatronics engineering.
- Technology: IT, information systems, data science, computer science, and informatics with data analytics, statistics, cybersecurity or AI and machine learning.
- Business: logistics, supply chain, production and operations management; digital marketing; economics and international relations; finance and accounting science.
- Covers registration and tuition fees, books, stationery, accommodation, meals and a laptop, plus vacation work, mentoring and academic support.
VWGA Bursary eligibility requirements
- South African-born citizen with a Bachelor’s pass and at least a 70% Matric average.
- Entering second, third or fourth year full-time in 2027 at an accredited South African institution.
- At least a 65% tertiary average.
- Not employed full-time. Designated group candidates get preference.
How to apply for the VWGA Bursary
- Open the application at vwsabursary.auraams.app.
- Upload a certified ID and Matric certificate (certified within three months), full tertiary records including June 2026 results, 2026 fee statements and proof of registration, a CV, a one to two-page motivation, any other bursary agreement, disability documents if relevant, your parents’ IDs or death certificates and, if under 18, a parental consent form.
- Submit before midday on 28 September 2026. Selection includes screening, interviews and psychometric assessments.
