Upgrade or higher certificate?
- Upgrade if you need specific subjects, such as mathematics, for your chosen degree.
- A higher certificate can be a route into diplomas and degrees, but it takes a year of study and fees.
- Unisa applications for 2026 admission ran in June 2026, so plan early.
Unisa does not accept applications for “matric upgrade” courses. Websites claiming otherwise are not official.
