Health-related programmes at TVET colleges
- NC(V) Primary Health, offered at some colleges such as SWGC Roodepoort Campus.
- Occupational certificates in community and care work, such as Child and Youth Care Worker.
- Early childhood development programmes.
These programmes can support work in community health or care, but they do not register you with SANC as a nurse.
Getting into nursing
- Complete matric with the subjects the nursing college or university asks for.
- Apply to a provincial nursing college or a university.
- Check that the programme is SANC-accredited.
- Look at funding: provincial health bursaries for public nursing colleges, and NSFAS for public university nursing degrees.
