No. Unisa does not offer a nursing bridging course, and the old national bridging programme for enrolled nurses has closed. SANC’s information indicates that the last intake for that programme was in 2019. Today, the way up the nursing ladder is through the new SANC qualifications at accredited colleges and universities.

What happened to the bridging course
- The bridging course (known by its regulation number, R.683) let enrolled nurses train further as general or psychiatric nurses.
- It was a legacy qualification. Under national rules, legacy qualifications could not take first-time students after 31 December 2019.
- SANC has since said that moving from legacy to new qualifications is decided by the nursing education institutions.
