Does Stellenbosch University accept late applications for 2026?

No. Stellenbosch University does not accept late applications for the 2026 academic year once the official application period has closed. 

The university’s own admissions FAQs clearly state that late applications will not be accepted.

This strict policy applies to undergraduate admissions and also to many postgraduate applications, as stated on official “How to Apply” pages: applications opened on 1 April 2025, and late applications cannot be considered.

Because SU is very competitive and receives more applications than it has available spaces, all candidates must submit before the official closing date to be considered for admission.

These are not late applications but rather internal reconsiderations for unsuccessful or waitlisted applicants based on results, space availability, or changes in marks. 3. You may contact SU Admissions to check if you were on a waitlist or if reconsideration options are available.
4. If you do not have an offer or missed the deadline entirely, prepare to apply early for the next cycle (2027) when applications reopen, usually around 1 April 2026.
