The WENOSA Bursary 2026 is now open to South African women in their final year of postgraduate studies. If you are pursuing a qualification in technology, engineering, science, economics, or gender studies, you could receive up to R50,000 in funding. Deadline: 9 June 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must identify as a woman
  • Registered for final year of Honours, Master’s, or Doctoral studies in 2025
  • Studying at a public university, university of technology, or registered private college
  • Minimum average of 65% in most recent academic year
  • Preference given to applicants from households earning under R350,000 annually
You may qualify even if your field is not technical, as long as your research supports gender equality or women’s issues.

  2. Complete the application form and upload your documents
  3. Use “bursariesafrica.co.za” as your referral source

Documents needed:

  • Completed WENOSA Application Form
  • Certified copy of South African ID
  • Academic transcripts for all past studies
  • Proof of registration for 2025
  • Motivation letter (500–700 words)
  • Two reference letters
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting based on academic performance and financial need
  • Successful candidates notified by 30 July 2025
