Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund (LPFF) For South Africa Students
The Legal Practitioners’ Fidelity Fund (LPFF) is offering bursaries for law students and practising attorneys for the 2026 and 2027 academic years. If you are studying law at a recognised South African university, this opportunity can help cover your tuition costs and support your legal journey.
Who Qualifies for the LPFF Bursary?
The bursary is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate law students. Here are the minimum requirements:
- South African citizen or permanent resident
- Studying at a recognised South African university
- Must have completed Matric
- Must have 2 years or less left to complete your LLB
For postgraduate bursaries, you must also be:
- A practising attorney or a candidate attorney
- Holder of a law degree such as BA (Law), BCom (Law), BProc, or proof of completing the first two years of the revised 4-year LLB
If you’re in your 2nd year (first semester), the bursary can cover your 3rd and 4th year.
If you’re in your 3rd year (first semester), the bursary can cover your final year.
What the Bursary Covers
The LPFF bursary contributes toward tuition fees. The maximum amount awarded is R7 000 per year, and funding is available for up to two years. The amount is determined annually and approved by the Minister of Justice.
Preference Will Be Given To
- Financially needy students
- Academically strong candidates

- Certified ID or permanent residence document
- Academic transcript with 2025 first semester results
- Proof of university acceptance
- Testimonial from the Dean of your Law Faculty
Postgraduate applicants must include:
- Passport-size photo (attached to the form)
- Certified ID or permanent residence document
- Full academic transcript and qualifications
- Latest salary slip
- Testimonial from the Dean
- Proof of other bursaries or financial aid (if applicable)
