African Oxygen Limited (Afrox), founded in 1927 and now part of the Linde group, is South Africa’s largest supplier of industrial and medical gases and welding products. For many years it funded engineering students through a bursary that combined full study costs with vacation work at its plants. The programme has been dormant for several years, and this page explains what it offered and where to look instead.

About the Afrox Bursary

How to apply for the Afrox Bursary

  1. Email bursary.afrox@afrox.linde.com to ask whether a 2027 intake is planned.
  2. If a call opens, apply through the Afrox careers portal at afrox.co.za with your ID, Matric certificate, latest university transcripts and a CV.
  3. Historically the call closed on 31 July for the following academic year.
