About Accenture and Its Education Trust
Accenture operates in South Africa as a global professional services firm. Since 1971, Accenture has supported education via its Education Trust.
The Trust helps students from households earning between R350,000 to R1 000 000 annually (or under R300,000 for NSFAS postgraduate applicants).
It supports full scholarships and mentoring for tech-focused degrees.
Fields of Study Funded
The bursary covers full‑time study in technology-aligned degrees at one of the following universities: UCT, UJ, UP, Wits, SU, Rhodes, UWC, or UKZN. Qualifying degrees include:
- BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Information & Knowledge Systems, Mechatronics Engineering
- BSc(Eng) in IT or Electronic/Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
- BCom in Informatics, Computer Science, Stats & Data Science
- Data Engineering pathways (Big Data Analytics; Postgraduate Diploma in Data Analytics & Business Intelligence)
- BEng in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Micro Electronic Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be enrolled in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th year, or Honours of a qualifying degree listed above
- Have a minimum cumulative academic average of 65%
- Come from a household earning between R350,000 and R1 000 000 (undergraduate) or under R300,000 (NSFAS postgraduate)
- Show academic excellence, leadership potential, and financial need
How to Apply
- Applications open via the official Accenture Education Trust scholarship portal in mid‑year.
- Register a user account using your email.
- Choose “Apply Manually” and complete the personal, experience, and academic information sections.
- Answer application questions using these responses: Q1 = Yes; Q2 = No; Q3 = Yes; Q4 = Yes; Q5 = No.
- In the “where did you hear about bursaries” field, enter “www.bursariesafrica.co.za”.
- Upload all required documents before submitting.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload certified copies of:
- South African ID document
- Matric certificate or final results
- Full tertiary academic record (including mid‑year or progress report)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Parents’ or guardians’ proof of income (income tax return, payslip, or employer letter)
These documents are mandatory. Incomplete submissions may be disqualified.
Selection Process
Applications that meet eligibility are reviewed by the Accenture Education Trust committee.
Selection is based on academic merit, degree alignment, leadership potential, and financial need.
Shortlisted candidates may be requested to attend assessments or interviews. Final offers are made after all evaluations.
Closing Date
The application cycle is currently open, but the closing date for the 2026 scholarship has not been publicly confirmed yet.
