Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Be currently in 2nd year or higher of study—first-year students are not eligible
- Enrolled full-time at one of South Africa’s 26 public universities
- Studying in one of the specified eligible fields
- Not currently receiving NSFAS or any other bursary funding
- Must have outstanding student debt from 2026 only; no older debt accepted
- Household income must be below R600,000 per year
- Children of Baker Hughes employees are not eligible
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
Required Documents
You must upload or attach certified, readable copies of:
- South African ID document (certified, not older than 6 months)
- Academic transcripts from Year 1 to the most recent year completed
- Official university fee statement, issued within the last 30 days (on letterhead and/or stamped)
- Proof of registration for the 2026 academic year
- Parent/guardian/spouse ID number for household income verification (income form may be required)
- Medical certificate and EEA1 form, if applicable for disability status
- Motivational letter (max 1,200 words) explaining your personal brand and why Baker Hughes should invest in you.
How to Apply
- Apply online via the official Baker Hughes bursary application portal, administered through Feenix.
- Complete the application form, upload all required documents, and submit before the deadline.
