About the Bankseta Letsema Learnership

The Banking Sector Education and Training Authority (BankSETA) delivers youth development interventions within South Africa’s banking and microfinance industry. 

It aims to bridge theory and work exposure through SAQA-registered learnerships.

Fields of Study Funded

  • Post-matric candidates only
  • Banking service advice qualification (NQF Level 5)

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Valid, certified Grade 12 certificate
  2. Minimum 50 % in English AND 50 % in Accounting OR 50 % in Mathematics OR 60 % in Maths Literacy
  3. Currently unemployed and not participating in any other learnership
  4. Clear credit (ITC) and no criminal record
  5. Under the age of 30 in the recruitment year
  6. Not registered for any studies during the recruitment year
  7. Professional image required
  8. South African citizen with a valid ID
  9. Persons with disabilities must supply a medical certificate confirming the disability
  10. Effective written and verbal English communication required

How to Apply

  1. Application forms are released on the BankSETA website and at BankSETA offices during the July–August recruitment window
  2. Completed forms must be handwritten, signed, and submitted via designated recruitment agencies such as Kelly or Lulaway Holdings
  3. Advertisements include submission methods and available centres—the application form specifies options for email or hand delivery.

  • Certified Grade 12 certificate or statement of results
  • Positive recommendation or testimonial (e.g., school or institution)
  • Medical certificate if applicable for disability

The recruitment window typically opens between July and August for the following year, with deadlines falling in that period. 

Ensure you submit your application before the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
