The Bowman’s Bursary is a financial aid program designed to reduce the financial burden associated with pursuing higher education.

- LLB
- BCom Law
- BA Law
(For both new Matriculants and current university law students)

Eligibility Criteria
You must meet all of the following:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be in Matric (final year) or currently enrolled in a law degree at a recognized South African university
- Have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% for your current year of study
- Demonstrate financial need
- Show strong leadership, teamwork, commitment, and passion for law
- Preference may be given to candidates from historically disadvantaged backgrounds
How to Apply
- Applications are submitted online via Bowmans’ official bursary portal or Leaply platform.
- Matric students should email their application to [email protected] with the subject:
“Bursary Application: [Your Name]” - University students must complete the online application through the Leaply portal.
Required Documents
Compile and submit certified copies of the following:
- South African ID
- Grade 11 final results and latest Matric results (for Matriculants) or Matric certificate (if already completed)
- Full university academic transcript (for current tertiary students)
- Clear motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
- Proof of parents’ or guardians’ financial status: payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, or SASSA grant proof
Closing Date
For the 2026 cycle, applications will open on 1 August 2025 and close on 30 September 2025.
