Bowmans Bursary 2026 Requirements & Application Guide

The Bowman’s Bursary is a financial aid program designed to reduce the financial burden associated with pursuing higher education.

Through this initiative, Bowman Inc. seeks to help students by providing them with the financial support they need to achieve their academic goals.

Fields of Study Funded

Eligible studying areas include:

• LLB
• BCom Law
• BA Law

(For both new Matriculants and current university law students)

Eligibility Criteria

You must meet all of the following:

1. Be a South African citizen
2. Be in Matric (final year) or currently enrolled in a law degree at a recognized South African university
3. Have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% for your current year of study
4. Demonstrate financial need
5. Show strong leadership, teamwork, commitment, and passion for law
6. Preference may be given to candidates from historically disadvantaged backgrounds

How to Apply

• Applications are submitted online via Bowmans’ official bursary portal or Leaply platform.
• Matric students should email their application to [email protected] with the subject:
  “Bursary Application: [Your Name]”
• University students must complete the online application through the Leaply portal.

Required Documents

Compile and submit certified copies of the following:

1. South African ID
2. Grade 11 final results and latest Matric results (for Matriculants) or Matric certificate (if already completed)
3. Full university academic transcript (for current tertiary students)
4. Clear motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
5. Proof of parents’ or guardians’ financial status: payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, or SASSA grant proof

Closing Date

For the 2026 cycle, applications will open on 1 August 2025 and close on 30 September 2025.
