About the Bursary

The Cape Agulhas Municipality offers this bursary to invest in its community’s future. 

It is available to students living in the municipal area, including towns such as Napier, Bredasdorp, L’Agulhas, Struisbaai, and Arniston, and supports studies in fields crucial to the region’s growth.

Eligible fields include:

  1. Agriculture, Architecture, Arts & Culture, Business Studies
  2. Civil & Electromechanical Engineering, Community Development, Community Safety
  3. Environmental Management, Financial Management, Human Resources, ICT
  4. Legal Studies, Marine Biology, Public Administration
  5. Tourism, Town & Regional Planning

Eligibility Criteria

You must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Be a South African citizen residing within Cape Agulhas Municipality
  2. Have completed Matric
  3. Be accepted or registered at a SAQA-accredited tertiary institution for 2026 in one of the eligible fields
  4. Demonstrate financial need with a household income of not more than R20 000 per month

How to Apply

  1. Download or collect the application form from the municipal website, local libraries, or municipal offices.
  2. Complete the form and attach the required documents listed below.
  3. Submit your application in a sealed envelope marked “Bursary Application” to:
    • Cape Agulhas Municipality, 2 Van Riebeeck Street, Old Nedbank Building, Bredasdorp, 7280
    • Or post to: HR & OD – Training and Development (P.O. Box 51, Bredasdorp, 7280)

Required Documents

Include certified copies of the following:

  1. Identity document
  2. Matric certificate or most recent results
  3. Registration certificate or acceptance letter from your institution
  4. Proof of residence in the municipal area (e.g., municipal account)
  5. Parents’/guardians’ income proof (payslips, affidavit, or grant proof)
  6. Letter of motivation explaining your academic and career goals
