How the last round had to be submitted

The full advert set strict public service rules for the last round:

  1. Complete the 2021 version of the Z83 form in full. Sections A to D must be filled in, sections E to G may say “refer to CV”, and the Part F question on conditions that prevent re-appointment must be answered. Initial the form and sign the declaration. An old Z83 disqualifies the application.
  2. Attach a comprehensive CV showing qualifications and any experience with dates. No other documents are needed at this stage; only shortlisted candidates bring certified copies.
  3. Email the Z83 and CV as one PDF to Vacancies1@dee.gov.za or Vacancies2@dee.gov.za, with the job title and reference DEE INTERN 01 in the subject line. Photos or JPEG files are rejected.
  4. Alternatively, post the application to the Director-General, Department of Electricity and Energy, Private Bag X96, Pretoria 0001, or hand it in at Matimba House. Faxed applications are not accepted.

Walk-in applications closed at 16:00 on 6 February 2026 and online applications at 23:59. Successful candidates face criminal record, citizenship, financial and qualification checks and security clearance. The department said applicants not contacted within three months of the closing date should take it that they were unsuccessful. Enquiries went to Ms Thabitha Maloka on 012 406 7563 or Ms Tinyiko Malatji on 012 406 7835.
