VerifiedCapitec runs a graduate internship alongside its branch learnerships, and it screens for it differently from almost every other employer in this section. You complete an online assessment before you submit a formal application. Graduates who discover that at 23:40 on the closing date do not get in.
The two steps, in order
- Complete the online assessment. This comes first and is not optional. Do it early in the window, on a stable connection, in one sitting.
- Then submit the formal application on the Capitec careers portal, where the advert and its reference live.
Treat the assessment as the real interview. It is the stage that decides whether a human ever reads your CV, and it cannot be retaken because you were tired or on a taxi.

What interns actually do
Capitec places interns on live business projects rather than on observation. Expect to be given a piece of work with a deadline attached, alongside experienced staff, and to be judged on whether you take ownership of it. The bank talks about a fast-paced environment and a growth mindset, which in practice means asking for feedback early and acting on it, rather than waiting to be corrected at the end.

- Have your degree or diploma certificate, transcript and ID scanned and ready.
- Check your credit report now. A judgment discovered during vetting ends the process at the last stage.

- Watch the mid-year months, and apply on the day the advert appears rather than the day it closes.
