About the Master Builders KZN Bursary
The Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Bursary Fund was created to address skills shortages in the construction sector. It provides financial support to students who are studying or planning to study in construction and built environment disciplines.
The bursary is awarded for one academic year at a time. Students may reapply in future years if they meet the academic performance requirements.
What Does the Bursary Cover?
The bursary may fund the following qualifications:
- Apprenticeships
- National Certificate qualifications
- Diplomas
- Degrees
- Any other construction-related qualification approved by the Bursary Committee
Funding is not limited to a specific qualification type, as long as the studies are relevant to the built environment.
Fields of Study Supported
The bursary is intended for students pursuing careers in the built environment, including but not limited to:
- Construction management
- Quantity surveying
- Civil engineering
- Architecture
- Building science
- Technical and artisan trades related to construction
Final approval of fields is at the discretion of the Bursary Committee.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be studying or intending to study in a built environment or construction-related field
- Be accepted or registered at a recognised South African institution or training provider
- Demonstrate academic potential and financial need
- Be willing to comply with the bursary terms and conditions
Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee funding.

- Submit your completed application before the closing date.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
