Why your allowance may be late

  • Your college has not submitted, or has submitted incorrect, registration data. In April 2026, 12,000 students were left out because of data inconsistencies between colleges and NSFAS.
  • Your bank details are missing or the account is inactive.
  • You were classified for the wrong allowance type.
  • Your funding status is not yet approved.

What to do

  1. Check your funding status and bank details on myNSFAS.
  2. Confirm with your college financial aid office that your registration was submitted.
  3. Keep proof of registration and attendance.
  4. If the problem remains, lodge a query through NSFAS channels with your ID number.

The 2027 payment schedule will follow registration in early 2027. First payments usually follow the start of the academic year and registration uploads.
