A route from TVET college to nursing
- If you have no matric, finish matric or check whether a nursing college accepts NC(V) Level 4 with your subjects.
- Build the subjects nursing colleges ask for, such as life sciences.
- Apply to your provincial nursing college, for example the KZN College of Nursing, or to a university Bachelor of Nursing.
- Check SANC accreditation before you enrol.
Be cautious with private colleges advertising “nursing” short courses. Only SANC-accredited programmes lead to registration as a nurse.
Funding: nursing colleges and NSFAS. Majuba example: Madadeni nursing campus.
