What Do the Different NWU Status Messages Mean?

When you check your application status online, you may see several possible messages:

Application Submitted means NWU has received your application, and it is on record.

Application Under Review means the admissions team is assessing your academic results and supporting documents.

Provisionally Accepted or Conditional Offer means you meet the minimum requirements, but final acceptance depends on outstanding documents or results being submitted.

Accepted / Final Offer means NWU has fully admitted you for the 2027 academic year, and you can go ahead with registration.

How Do I Accept an Offer From NWU?

After you accept, NWU sends you the registration dates and next steps for starting as a student in 2027.

What Happens After My Application Status Shows Accepted?

After you have been accepted, you will need to register for your courses during the official registration period. 

Registration normally opens in January ahead of the academic year. 

You will receive specific registration instructions from NWU once your status is finalized. 

Accepted students should also confirm their residence accommodation and funding arrangements, including NSFAS if applicable.
