What Do the Different UKZN Application Statuses Mean?

When Should I Check My UKZN Status?

What Should I Do If My Status Says Awaiting Documents?

If the portal indicates that your application is “Awaiting Documents”, this means UKZN is waiting for one or more required documents. 

These could include your final NSC results, certified copies of your ID, or other supporting material. 

You must submit these documents as soon as possible. 

You may be able to upload documents online if the portal allows, or you may have to follow instructions sent by email.

How Do I Accept an Offer From UKZN?

UKZN dropped the acceptance fee for 2026 offers. Read your 2027 offer email for any fee and for the deadline to confirm that you will study at UKZN.

What Happens After My Application Status Shows a Firm Offer?

When your status shows a “Firm Offer”, UKZN has accepted you for study in 2027.

After acceptance, you need to prepare for online registration when it opens. 

Registration typically begins in early January and continues into February. 

UKZN will provide details on registration, orientation, and how to access your student portal and class timetable. 

Registered students may also access student services, residences, and other resources once registration is complete.
