University of Venda (UNIVEN) Late Applications Link 2027

The University of Venda (UNIVEN) is a public university in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, South Africa.

UNIVEN opened online applications for the 2027 academic year on 1 May 2026. 

All applicants; undergraduate, postgraduate, South African, and international, had to apply online through the UNIVEN application portal.

UNIVEN closes applications for most 2027 qualifications on 30 September 2026. Some high-demand programmes close earlier, so check your programme in the 2027 Undergraduate Prospectus.

After the closing date, the standard application period ends and you cannot submit a regular application for the 2027 intake.

Does UNIVEN offer late applications for 2027?

UNIVEN’s main application period for 2027 ends on 30 September 2026, when the portal closes.

UNIVEN lists no separate late applications link for the 2027 admission cycle.

In some years, UNIVEN has opened a late application period in January for programmes that still have space after selections. 

For the 2026 intake, admissions guides reported a late window from about 16 January to 31 January 2026. UNIVEN has not announced a 2027 late window, so wait for an official notice before you plan around one.

This late window is not guaranteed and depends on capacity. 

Not all programmes are open, and meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission in the late cycle.

Because UNIVEN does not publish a dedicated late link separately, applicants must use the official UNIVEN online application portal whenever any late period is active and follow the official instructions.

What is the official UNIVEN application link?

All applications are submitted online through UNIVEN’s official application system on the university’s website.

You must create an account with your South African ID number (or passport number if international), email address, and a 5-digit PIN to begin and save your application.

How to apply online to UNIVEN

To apply for admission at UNIVEN:

1. Visit www.univen.ac.za and click on Apply for Admission.
2. Register an account with your email and ID/passport number.
3. Complete the online form with personal, contact, and academic details.
4. Upload certified copies of your ID or passport, Grade 11 or Grade 12 results, or matric certificate.
5. Submit your application before the deadline.

If UNIVEN opens a late application period (it did so in January 2026), you use the same portal, and it shows which programmes still have space.

What if I missed the UNIVEN deadline?

If you miss the 30 September 2026 deadline:

1. Standard applications for 2027 will be closed, so you cannot submit a regular application for that intake.
2. Watch for a late application window. If UNIVEN opens one for programmes with space (as it did in January 2026), apply through the same official portal.
3. If UNIVEN opens no late window, apply early in the 2028 cycle. UNIVEN opened its 2027 applications on 1 May 2026.
4. Consider universities that close later for 2027, such as UJ and Walter Sisulu University (31 October 2026) or the University of Mpumalanga (30 November 2026).

How to check your application status

After submitting your application before the deadline or during a late window, you can track its status online:

• Log into the UNIVEN application portal and view your status using your student number and PIN.
• UNIVEN may also communicate offers and next steps by email or SMS.
