Altech Bursary 2026 – Engineering, IT & Accounting Funding
Altech has not yet confirmed the 2026 call. The annual deadline has consistently been 31 August, and it is expected to remain so.

About Altech
Altech is a subsidiary of Altron, part of the global TMT (Telecoms, Multimedia & ICT) group founded in 1992 and operating in over 14 countries.
It champions technological innovation and skills development through bursaries for future leaders in engineering, IT, and accounting.
Fields of Study Funded
The bursary supports South African students enrolled in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year undergraduate degrees in these fields:
- Accounting (CA stream)
- Computer Science / Information Technology
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
Bursaries are awarded only to students at traditional universities (no Universities of Technology).
Benefits for Recipients
Selected recipients receive:
- Tuition and registration fees
- Prescribed textbooks and study materials
- Accommodation in residence or equivalent value
- Mandatory six weeks of vocational work per year during studies
- A work-back obligation equal to the bursary duration upon graduation.
Eligibility Criteria
You must meet all of the following:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be enrolled full-time in the 2nd–4th year of an eligible undergraduate degree
- Study at an accredited South African university (not a technikon)
- Have a strong academic record (high marks required)
Failure to match any requirement disqualifies your application.

Submit clear, certified copies of:
- South African ID document
- Matric certificate
- Full academic transcript/record on university letterhead
Missing or uncertified documents may result in rejection.

The annual closing date is 31 August. Although the 2026 deadline is not yet confirmed, applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
