About the BHW Scholarship

The BHW Group is a custom web and mobile app development company based in Austin, Texas. 

This scholarship aims to encourage and support women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Fields of Study Funded

• Science
• Technology
• Engineering
• Mathematics (STEM) majors, at both undergraduate and master’s levels

Benefits for Recipients

• $3,000 scholarship awarded and paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution, not to the student

Eligibility Criteria

• Identify as female
• Pursuing or prepared to pursue a full-time undergraduate or master’s degree in a STEM field
• Attending a U.S. institution (international students are welcome if the institution is U.S.-based; U.S. study-abroad programs are also acceptable)

How to Apply

• Applications open: 1 January 2026
• Submit online via The BHW Group’s official scholarship page (look for “Women in STEM academic scholarship”)

Required Documents

Submit the following through the online form:

1. Personal details (name, email, institution)
2. 500–800-word essay on ONE of the following prompts:
   
   • Describe your favorite app and what you like about it
     
   • Describe a time an app significantly improved your day
3. A personal photo for use in the announcement

Closing Date

Applications open on 1 January 2026 and close on 15 April 2026.
