About the Boston & YFM Scholarship

Boston Media House is a private higher education institution registered with South Africa’s Department of Higher Education and Training, delivering media and design qualifications at campuses in Sandton, Pretoria, and Durban.

YFM is a Johannesburg-based, youth-focused radio station known for its urban contemporary format, including Hip Hop, R&B, and Kwaito, and for engaging young audiences through music and talk content.

Fields of Study Funded

The scholarship supports two specific programs at Boston Media House:

• Diploma in Media Practices (full-time, three-year qualification) — valued at R180 000
• Soul Candi Digital Composition & Production short course — valued at R30 000

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Have completed Matric
• Be interested in studying media, music, or related disciplines at Boston Media House
• Have a strong academic record
• Not be employees, directors, or immediate relatives of Boston Media House, YFM, or affiliated entities
