Boston City Campus is one of South Africa’s largest private higher education providers, with more than 40 support centres across the country and accredited programmes from higher certificates to degrees. It offers partial tuition bursaries to new and existing students who need help with fees, in two rounds each year.

About the Boston City Campus Bursary

The bursary is a partial contribution to tuition fees, ranging from 20% to 100% depending on the bursary category and the applicant’s circumstances. It is available for any qualification Boston offers. It does not cover outstanding fees from previous periods, stationery, examination fees, accommodation or transport. A bursary application does not guarantee funding.

At least 17 years old, with parental consent if under 18.
Completed Matric.
A new or existing Boston City Campus student.
Financial need and a clear motivation for why you should be selected.

How to apply for the Boston Bursary

Contact your nearest Boston City Campus support centre during the application window and ask whether it takes online or hard-copy applications.
Submit your ID, your Matric results or certificate, your Boston academic record if you are a returning student, and a motivation letter stating why you should be selected.
The bursary committee meets after the closing date. Only successful applicants are contacted.

1. When does the Boston bursary close for 2027? +

Boston runs two rounds a year. For Semester A of 2027, applications open on 1 November and close on 30 November 2026. For Semester B, they open on 1 May and close on 31 May 2027.

2. Who qualifies? +

New or existing Boston City Campus students aged 17 or older (with parental consent if under 18) who have completed Matric, for any qualification Boston offers, with financial need and a motivation.

3. What does it cover? +

A partial contribution to tuition fees only, ranging from 20% to 100% depending on the bursary and the applicant. Outstanding fees, stationery, exam fees, accommodation and transport are not covered.

4. How do I apply? +

At your local Boston City Campus support centre, which will tell you whether it takes online or hard-copy applications, with your ID, Matric results, your Boston academic record if you are a returning student and a motivation letter.

5. Will I hear back? +

Only successful applicants are contacted after the bursary committee meets. No feedback means the application was unsuccessful, and the committee does not give reasons.

6. Are there partner bursaries? +

Boston lists partner bursaries such as Arena Academy on its website; ask your support centre which are running for 2027.
