About the Organisation
Corteva Agriscience™ is a major agriscience company dedicated to agriculture.
In South Africa it runs a bursary program to support agricultural tertiary students.
The aim is to uplift young agriculture professionals, especially those aligned with agricultural sector priorities.
Fields of Study Funded
The bursary is available for full-time study in agricultural fields. This includes:
- Undergraduate agricultural qualifications
- Postgraduate agricultural qualifications (research costs included)
Benefits for Recipients
The bursary covers:
- Tuition fees
- Textbooks
- Accommodation, including university-accredited residences
- For postgraduate students, research costs
- Payments are made directly to the student’s institution’s account
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be studying full-time at a recognized and accredited university, college, or university of technology in South Africa
- Be pursuing an agricultural qualification (undergraduate or postgraduate)
- Have completed your first year of study, and be entering the 2nd year or higher in 2025
- Be unemployed
- Be able to show financial need
- Not be in receipt of another bursary, scholarship, grant, or other funding for 2025, except NSFAS funds
- Willingness to undertake vacation work with Corteva
- Must sign a bursary agreement with Corteva
- Preference is given to students whose course is in the AgriSETA Sectoral Priority Occupations List
How to Apply
- There is no separate application form; applicants submit via email.

Required Documents
You need to include certified copies (usually recent) of:
- South African identity document (certified, not older than 6 months)
- Tertiary academic records including the most recent results (on institution letterhead)
- Proof of tertiary registration and fee statements (on institution letterhead)
- Proof of parent or guardian income (payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of grant/pension if applicable)
- Motivational letter explaining why you deserve this bursary
- Any other supporting documentation (to strengthen your application)

31 October 2024 for the 2025 academic year cycle. Dates for the 2026 application cycle are not out.
